I'm committed to inclusive, evidence-based pedagogy. Check out materials from the anthropology and human evolutionary biology courses I've led at Caltech, Pasadena City College, CSU Long Beach, and Harvard.

I strive to combine classroom learning with public engagement.

In my Harvard class "Human Evolutionary Biology in Society," undergraduates worked with community groups to design activities that spread their human evo bio knowledge beyond campus. Our partners in 2019 and 2018 included Malden Middle School, Watertown Middle School, Science Club for Girls, MIT Museum, Harvard Museum of Natural History, Boston Museum of Science, and NOVA.
In my class "Neanderthals and Other Extinct Humans," Harvard students created YouTube explainer videos in collaboration with professional science communicators, the Derek Bok Center, and middle schoolers from Science Club for Girls. Both classes were supported by the Mindich Program in Engaged Scholarship.
